Sir Hans Sloane (1660-1753) went to Jamaica in 1687 to become the physician of the Duke of Alberne, governor of the island. Ref. Sabin 35585.

2 vols. bound as one. Later half calf with marbled boards. Flat spine with gilt lettering, marbled edges. In good condition, the front inner hinge partly disattached (two of three cords broken), owner's entry in ink to the verso of the flyleaf (Poncet Delpech 1795).
